Abstract

Objective: To research the effect of cluster nursing with importance-performance analysis (IPA) on disease awareness, medication compliance and disease management ability of athletic patients with chronic heart failure (CHF). Methods: During July 2020 to April 2022 ,128 athletic patients with CHF treated in our hospital were enrolled for the study. The athletic patients were arbitrarily classified into control group (n=64) and observation group (n=64). The former group accepted routine nursing, while the latter group accepted cluster nursing model based on the analysis of important performance. The improvement of self-efficacy, cardiac functions, life quality, psychological state and medication compliance were compared. Results: There was a remarkably higher self-efficacy score for symptom management after intervention and for disease generality management after intervention in the observation group (P<0.05). The values of cardiac function indexes after nursing in both groups were higher than those before nursing, and the values of left ventricular ejection fraction and cardiac output in the observation group were relatively higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). There was a marked decline in scores for physical function, emotional state, social function, and behavioral characteristics in the observation group (P<0.05). In the observation group, SAS score and SDS score were remarkably lower after nursing (P<0.05), the medication compliance of the athletic patients was remarkably higher (P<0.05), and the cognition of the disease was remarkably higher (P<0.05). Conclusion: Cluster nursing based on IPA can improve athletic patients' understanding of the disease, reduce their negative emotions, and increase their medication compliance, disease management ability and life quality.
