Abstract

Objective: To explore the impact of continuous care with a homemade picture viewing and conversation tool on cardiac function and blood pressure control in athletic patients with hypertension (EH) complicated by heart disease. Methods: During June 2021 to June 2022, 106 athletic patients with hypertension complicated with heart disease cured in our hospital were enrolled for the study. All athletic patients were arbitrarily classified into control group (n=53) and observation group (n=53). The former accepted conventional care and the latter acccepted continuous care with a home-made conversation tool. The indexes of cardiac function, blood pressure, life quality score, nursing satisfaction and medication compliance were compared. Results: After nursing, the LVEF, CO and LVESD indicators of the observation group were remarkably lower, and the LVEDD indicators of the observation group were remarkably higher. The diastolic and systolic blood pressure of the observation group were remarkably lower. After nursing, the self-test, rational drug use, social and physiological function scores of the observation group were remarkably higher (P<0.05). The nursing satisfaction of the athletic patients in the observation group was remarkably higher (P<0.05). Following the nursing, the medication compliance of the observation group was remarkably higher (P<0.05). Conclusion: In athletic patients with hypertensive heart disease, continuous care with a homemade reading conversation tool can remarkably improve their cardiac function, life quality scores and medication adherence. It is worthwhile to promote and apply this intervention in the clinical practice.
