Abstract

Objective: To investigate the impact of psychological psychotherapy and bronchoscopic alveolar lavage on inflammatory response, complication rates, and negative feelings in children with recurrent bacterial bronchitis and lobar pneumonia. Methods: 40 kids with persistent bacterial bronchitis and lobar pneumonia who were hospitalized to our hospital between April 2019 and May 2021 were chosen as the research subjects. They were randomly divided into the control group (n = 19) and the research group (n = 21). Treatment as usual was provided to the control group, while the research group underwent bronchoscopic bronchoalveolar lavage in addition to psychological intervention. Results: The overall success rate for the treatment group was 90.48 percent, which was statistically higher than the success rate for the control group, which was 63.16% (P<0.05); Time to normalize body temperature, time to relieve coughing, time to reduce lung rales, and time in the hospital were all significantly decreased in the treatment group compared to the control group after treatment (P<0.05); After treatment, both groups had lower levels of CRP, PCT, ESR and D-D than they had before treatment; however, the levels of these markers were significantly lower in the research group than in the control group (P<0.05); During the treatment period, there were no adverse events such as respiratory depression, arrhythmia, and hypotension in the two groups. Compared to the control group, the incidences of transient hypoxemia, laryngeal edema, nausea, vomiting, and fever were significantly lower in the research group (P<0.05); Post-treatment, anxiety levels among both groups were lower than they had been beforehand. Improvements in somatization fear, generalized anxiety, separation anxiety, social anxiety, and school anxiety were statistically significant (P<0.05) in the post-treatment analysis for the research group compared to the control group. Conclusion: Bronchoscopic bronchoalveolar lavage combined with psychological intervention for children with lobar pneumonia and persistent bacterial bronchitis can relieve their clinical symptoms and inflammatory response, relieve their anxiety, and has high therapeutic effect and safety.
