Objective: To evaluate the impact of pharmaceutical interventions on medication safety and rehospitalization rates among athletes taking high-risk drugs. Methods: In this study, 120 athletes prescribed high-risk medications were randomly assigned into two groups: an observation group (n=60) and a control group (n=60). The control group received standard medication guidance, while the observation group received enhanced pharmaceutical interventions. We compared the incidence of adverse drug events, rehospitalization rates, and overall satisfaction with pharmaceutical care between the two groups. Results: The observation group showed significantly lower incidence rates of adverse drug events (5%) compared to the control group (15%), and a reduced rehospitalization rate (3.33% in the observation group vs. 15.00% in the control group). Additionally, satisfaction with pharmaceutical care was higher in the observation group (95%) compared to the control group (80%). Conclusion: Pharmaceutical interventions significantly enhance medication safety among athletes, reducing both adverse drug events and rehospitalization rates, thereby improving overall satisfaction with care. This suggests that targeted pharmaceutical guidance should be considered a key component of managing high-risk medication therapies in athletic populations.
