Background: The development and management of Sports Science and Rehabilitation Laboratories are essential to enhance academic and research excellence in higher education institutions. Despite significant advancements in these fields, there is limited research focusing on the strategic planning and performance evaluation of laboratories dedicated to sports science and rehabilitation. Objective: The research investigates the strategic planning and performance evaluation of such laboratories in ‘Double First-Class’ universities, aiming to assess their contribution to academic excellence, research innovation, and industry collaboration. Method: Data were collected from 15 leading institutions through surveys, institutional records, and interviews to encompass metrics such as laboratory funding, publication volumes, faculty expertise, student enrolment, and industry partnerships. Using IBM SPSS software version of 17. 0 and data analysis such as descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and regression models, the research evaluates the operational efficiency, research output, and industry impact of the laboratories. Results: Results indicate significant relationships between laboratory resources, strategic planning effectiveness, and academic productivity. Specifically, the research found that facility quality, staff expertise, and strategic planning significantly contribute to academic performance, while industry partnerships enhance technological advancements. Conclusion: The findings offer actionable insights for optimizing laboratory operations, improving research quality, and fostering international collaborations. The research contributes to the strategic development of Sports Science and Rehabilitation Laboratories, aiming to strengthen the competitive edge of Double First-Class’ universities in the global academic and research landscape
