Abstract

Research Objectives: In order to investigate and assess the current status of medical resource allocation and the coordination of economic development across 31 provinces in China, this paper conducts a scientific analysis and summary of the issues present in provincial medical allocation. Methods: In this study, the entropy weight method, coupling coordination degree evaluation model method, and TOPSIS method were employed to investigate the allocation of health care resources in 31 provinces of China and the coupling coordination between health care resource allocation and economic development. Conclusion: The research concludes that the allocation of medical resources in different provinces, particularly those with strong economic development in China, is generally deemed satisfactory. However, there remains a significant gap from the optimal level of medical resource allocation. In less developed areas, the allocation of medical resources is suboptimal and requires improvement in terms of financial support, personnel allocation, and management practices. Research Significance: The theoretical significance of this study is to enrich the application of entropy weight method, coupling coordination degree evaluation model method and TOPSIS method in medical allocation. The practical significance is to investigate the interplay between medical resource allocation and economic development across different regions of China, with the practical significance of informing the formulation of medical allocation policies at provincial and regional levels. Furthermore, a methodology is proposed for analyzing the correlation between local medical resource allocation and economic development, with potential broader applicability beyond China.
