Whether it is the repetition found in the natural occurrences of life or the repetition inherent in societal production and behavioral patterns, these elements form the foundation of human experience. Repetition serves as a means through which humanity grows and acquires cognition, while also constituting a fundamental component of art. In the realm of artistic expression, "repetition" serves as a driving force both in content and form, consistently utilized by artists as an intuitive and highly expressive artistic language. It has evolved in various ways throughout the different stages of art history, gradually becoming a uniquely potent and influential form of artistic expression. This paper begins with the common occurrences of "repetition" in nature and society, focusing on the characteristics of "repetition" in traditional Chinese painting and contemporary Chinese art. The study delves into the contemporary aesthetic values and cultural significance embodied by the "repetition" form in current artistic expression.
