Abstract

Objective: To explore the application effect of cluster nursing in venous catheter nursing. Methods: A total of 120 patients with venous catheter who were admitted to the outpatient department from April 2021 to December 2022 were selected as the subjects. They were divided into a control group and an observation group by envelope method, with 60 cases in each group. The control group received routine nursing, and the observation group received cluster nursing. The two groups all completed the intervention for 2 weeks. The core competence of nurses, self-management level of patients, compliance and incidence of complications were compared between the two groups. Results: After 2 weeks of intervention, the scores of theoretical knowledge, maintenance operation skills, self-evaluation of related ability and evaluation of related ability by others in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). After 2 weeks of intervention, the scores of daily catheter observation, abnormal situation handling, movement with tube, daily life with tube and information acquisition in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). After 2 weeks of intervention, the compliance of catheterization, complication recognition and regular review in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). The incidence of puncture point bleeding, phlebitis and catheter prolapse in the intervention group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: The application of cluster nursing in outpatients with venous catheter can improve the core competence of nurses and the self-management level of patients, and the compliance of patients is high, and it can reduce the incidence of complications, which is worthy of promotion and application.
