A GROUNDED THEORETICAL STUDY OF THE THEORETICAL MODEL OF ICU NURSING EFFICIENCY

Abstract

Objective: To construct a theoretical model of ICU nursing efficiency, explore the influencing factors of ICU nursing efficiency, and provide a theoretical basis for the standardized management of ICU nursing. Methods: Semi structured interviews with 20 ICU care stakeholders and three-level coding using programmed grounded theory and Nvivo 12 software. Results: finally tease out 13 categories, five main categories, namely the hospital environment (physical environment, social and cultural environment), patient factors (patient degree, patient severity), nursing value of nursing, nursing, nursing service, nursing quality), learning and growth (physical quality, professional quality, mental health), nursing resources (human resources, material resources, financial resources, financial resources), and extract four core category associated with ICU nursing efficiency. Conclusion: The construction of the theoretical model of ICU nursing efficiency can clearly find the influencing factors and influencing modes of the change process of ICU nursing efficiency, enrich the theoretical research of nursing efficiency, and provide theoretical guidance for ICU managers to find targeted ways to improve nursing efficiency.
