INFLUENCE OF NURSING INTERVENTION BASED ON EMPOWERMENT EDUCATION MODEL ON SEXUAL LIFE QUALITY OF CERVICAL CANCER PATIENTS OF REPRODUCTIVE AGE

Abstract

Objective: To explore effect of empowering education model on quality of sexual life of patients with cervical cancer of reproductive age after surgery, to evaluate effect of nursing intervention, and to provide reference for clinical nurses to improve quality of sexual life of patients with cervical cancer. Methods: 47 Selected 120 patients with cervical cancer who met criteria in our hospital from May 2015 to June 2021 as research objects, and were randomly divided into authorization with 60 cases and control with 60 cases according to lottery method. The control was given general nursing model, and empowered was given nursing intervention of empowering education model on basis of control. The patients were measured by general information questionnaire, female sexual function scale (FSFI), and self-rating depression scale (SDS) before surgery and 6 months after surgery, to analyze effect of empowered education on cervical cancer patients of reproductive age. Changes in postoperative quality of sexual life. Results: 1. The comparison of baseline data before intervention showed that there was no difference in general data such as registered residence type, age, education level, family income, having children and cost sources (P > 0.05). 2. Before intervention, total score of FSFI in control was 29.85 ± 1.65, and 12.26 ± 3.84 six months after operation, which was lower than total score of FSFI before operation. The total score of FSFI in authorized was 29.08 ± 2.13 before operation and 17.66 ± 1.84 six months after operation, which was also lower than total score of preoperative sexual quality of life. During 3-month follow-up, 15 (25%) people in control and 33 (55%) people in authorization recovered their sexual life. All of authorized recovered their sexual life 6 months after operation, and 7 (11.7%) people in control did not recover their sexual life. 3. SDS of patients in control before intervention showed that 36 (60%) had no depression, 19 (31.7%) had mild depression, and 5 (8.3%) had severe depression. The results six months after operation showed that 36 (60%) had no depression, 14 (23.3%) had mild depression, and 10 (16.7%) had severe depression. SDS of authorized before intervention showed that there were 41 (68.3%) people without depression, 15 (25%) people with mild depression and 4 (6.7%) people with severe depression. The results six months after operation showed that there were 42 (70%) people without depression, 15 (25%) people with mild depression and 3 (5%) people with severe depression, P < 0.05. Conclusions: 1. The quality of sexual life of patients with cervical cancer of reproductive age decreased after operation. Nursing intervention of empowerment education model can improve quality of sexual life of patients, which is higher than health guidance of general nursing model. 2. The use of empowerment education can improve degree of psychological depression and improve quality of life of cervical cancer patients of reproductive age after surgery.
