Abstract

Objective: To explore the effect of Ginkgo biloba extract injection combined with batroxobin in patients with sudden deafness and its impact on language recognition ability. Method: 114 athletic patients with sudden deafness from May 2021 to July 2023 were selected and randomly divided into two groups with 57 cases in each group. Both groups were treated with hormones and vasodilators. The control group was treated with batroxobin, while the observation group was treated with Ginkgo biloba extract injection on the basis of the control group. Both groups completed 10 days of treatment and compared the pure tone hearing threshold level, endothelial function, speech recognition ability, and drug safety between the two groups. Result: After 10 days of intervention, the pure tone hearing threshold level and endothelial function were improved in both groups; The levels of hearing threshold, endothelial function sVCAM-1, and ET-1 in the observation group at frequencies of 250Hz, 500Hz, and 1000Hz were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05); After 10 days of intervention, the speech recognition ability of both groups was improved; The speech recognition rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group (P<0.05); There was no statistical difference in the incidence of gastrointestinal reactions, elevated blood pressure, chills, high fever, shortness of breath, and skin itching between the two groups during the medication period (P>0.05). Conclusion: Ginkgo biloba extract injection combined with batroxobin can improve pure tone hearing threshold, endothelial function, and speech recognition ability in athletic patients with sudden deafness, without increasing the incidence of adverse drug reactions. It is worth promoting and applying.
