Abstract

Objective: To investigate the effect of total quality management on nosocomial infection in neurology general intensive care unit (NICU). Methods: A total of 150 athletic patients admitted to our neurosurgical general intensive care unit from January 2022 to June 2022 were randomly divided into two clusters. Routine management mode was applied in the control cluster, and the study cluster was integrated into the comprehensive quality management mode on the basis of it. Inflammatory reaction, nursing quality mark, length of hospital stay, cost and infection rate were contrasted between the two clusters. Results: A total of 204 pathogens were isolated from 150 athletic patients, including 55 Gram-negative bacteria, 38 Gram-positive bacteria, 38 Staphylococcus, 21 fungi and Candida albicans. The changes of four indicators of inflammatory response after nursing in the study cluster were remarkably bottom than those in the control cluster, and the variances were remarkable (P < 0.05); after intervention, the nursing quality mark in the study cluster was remarkably upper than that in the control cluster, and the variances were remarkable (P < 0.05); the length of hospital stay and cost in the study cluster were remarkably less than those in the control cluster, and the infection rate in the study cluster was bottom than that in the control cluster, and the variances were remarkable (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Comprehensive quality management model for nosocomial infection in neurology general intensive care unit has a good effect, can target control and prevent the occurrence of nosocomial sensation, improve the quality of care, alleviate the inflammatory response, while reducing the length of hospital stay and costs, improve the medical quality of neurology critically ill athletic patients, it is worthy of promotion and application.
