Abstract

Objective: This study aims to evaluate the impact of combining home-based rehabilitation nursing with hospital rehabilitation training on language function and the overall recovery outcomes in athletes with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 74 autistic children who were admitted to our hospital from January 2021 to February 2022. They were randomly divided into two groups: a control group and an observation group, with 37 cases in each. The observation group received an integrated approach of home-based rehabilitation nursing alongside traditional hospital rehabilitation training. The study aimed to compare the effectiveness of the combined rehabilitation strategy versus traditional hospital-based rehabilitation alone, focusing on the improvement of language functions and overall rehabilitation results. Results: The outcomes demonstrated that the observation group, which underwent the joint application of home-based rehabilitation nursing and hospital rehabilitation training, exhibited significantly better improvements in language function and overall rehabilitation effects compared to the control group that received only hospital-based rehabilitation. The statistical analysis confirmed the superiority of the combined rehabilitation approach with significant differences (P < 0.05). Conclusion: The findings underscore the efficacy of integrating home-based rehabilitation nursing with hospital rehabilitation training in enhancing language function and overall rehabilitation outcomes in athletes with ASD. The combined approach not only supports better recovery but also emphasizes the importance of a holistic rehabilitation strategy, tailored to the unique needs of individuals with autism, in achieving optimal therapeutic effects.
