ANALYSIS OF THE SCREENING STATUS AND RELATED INFLUENCING FACTORS OF ADOLESCENT FEMALE ATHLETIC PATIENTS

Objective: To screen adolescent female athletic patient with syphilis in Wanning area and to analyze the influencing factors of syphilis. Methods: In this study, 500 adolescent females in Wanning District were selected for syphilis screening and questionnaire survey. Results: Among the 500 subjects who participated in the survey, 14 were positive for syphilis antibody, and the infection rate was 2.80%. The rate of syphilis infection was higher in those whose guardians were divorced/widowed, had a junior high school education level or below, did not know about the disease, and had no fixed living expenses (P<0.05). Logistic regression analysis showed that the marital status of the guardian, the education level of the guardian, the knowledge of the disease, and the fixed living expenses were the influencing factors of syphilis infection (P<0.05). The 14 syphilis cases included 10 cases of occult syphilis, 2 cases of fetal syphilis and 2 cases of stage II syphilis. Conclusion: The prevalence of syphilis infection among adolescent female athletic patient in Wanning area is relatively low, and 16-17 years old is the age group with a high incidence of syphilis infection. In the future, all sectors of society should increase the publicity of syphilis knowledge to better prevent minor syphilis infection.
