Objective: This study evaluates the impact of intravenous thrombolysis combined with interventional therapy on coagulation and neurological functions in elderly retired athletes suffering from acute ischemic stroke. Methods: Ninety-four elderly retired athletes with acute ischemic cerebrovascular disease admitted to our hospital from January 2020 to October 2021 were randomly divided into two groups: one receiving intravenous thrombolysis alone (control group) and the other receiving both intravenous thrombolysis and interventional therapy (study group). Results: Post-treatment, the study group showed significantly improved neurological function, enhanced blood flow parameters, and better coagulation function indicators compared to the control group (P < 0.05). Additionally, the study group exhibited higher safety and recanalization rates than the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion: The combined use of interventional therapy with intravenous thrombolysis significantly improves coagulation indicators, blood flow parameters, and neurological functions in elderly retired athletes with acute ischemic stroke. This approach not only reduces the incidence of adverse events and increases recanalization rates but also accelerates patients' return to normal life and work, demonstrating remarkable therapeutic effectiveness.
