Among the various physical qualities of basketball players, lower limb strength is the most basic and important, as it ensures the normal performance of athletes’ professional skills. Strengthening the training of lower limb muscle strength and explosive power is an important content of college basketball special sports and should be fully implemented and valued in college basketball special sports teaching. In the past, there were significant differences in training effectiveness due to different designs in terms of jump frequency, height selection, and combination. At the same time, it would also cause different degrees of knee, ankle and other joint sports injury to athletes. Based on this, this paper discusses the combination enhanced training intervention on lower limb muscle strength and explosive force of college male basketball players, expounds the significance and principles of lower limb strength training of basketball players, discusses the importance of combination enhanced training intervention in improving lower limb muscle strength and explosive force of college male basketball players, and finds that basketball is a kind of field confrontation project characterized by shooting, which focuses on the combination of strength and speed. Especially in terms of explosive power and jumping ability of the lower limbs, combination enhanced training is widely adopted as a method of intervening in their physical fitness. This article conducts research and analysis on the practical application of combination enhanced training. The leg push and push muscle strength of the fixed height group, control group, and progressive height group increased by 6.73, 12.66, and 11.89. After adopting combination enhanced training for a certain period of time, it can be found that the performance of college basketball players in the fixed height group, control group, and progressive height group in squat jump, approach single foot vertical jump, and leg push and push muscle strength has significantly increased. Combination enhanced training can effectively improve athletes’ movement speed and jumping ability, improve joint stability, reduce knee joint injuries, and enhance the physical fitness and lower limb explosive power of college male basketball players.
