Objective: To examine the impact of humanistic care-oriented predictive nursing on the outcomes of fiberoptic bronchoscopy (FB) interventions in elderly athletes. Methods: This study involved 120 elderly athletes who underwent FB at our hospital from January 2021 to December 2022. Participants were randomly divided into a control group (60 patients) and an observation group (60 patients). The control group received routine care, while the observation group received additional humanistic care-oriented predictive nursing. We compared clinical compliance, complication rates, systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP), heart rate (HR), pulse, oxygen saturation (SPO2), comfort levels, and nursing satisfaction between the two groups. Results: The observation group exhibited a significantly lower complication rate (33.33%) compared to the control group (80.00%) (P<0.05). Post-nursing measurements showed significant improvements in SBP, DBP, and HR, alongside an increase in SPO2, indicating better physiological stability in the observation group compared to the control. The observation group also scored higher on the General Comfort Questionnaire (GCQ) and demonstrated better clinical compliance (98.33% vs. 85.00%) and higher nursing satisfaction (95.00% vs. 78.33%) than the control group (P<0.05 for all comparisons). Conclusion: Humanistic care-oriented predictive nursing significantly enhances clinical outcomes in elderly athletes undergoing fiberoptic bronchoscopy. This approach not only reduces complications and physiological stress responses associated with the procedure but also improves patient comfort and satisfaction with nursing care. These findings suggest that integrating humanistic care into predictive nursing protocols can offer substantial benefits in the interventional treatment of elderly athletes, providing a valuable clinical reference for enhancing patient care in similar medical settings.
