Objective: To analyze the spatial distribution and accessibility of elderly sports and rehabilitation services using Geographic Information System (GIS) methods, addressing the growing need for such services amidst an aging population. Methods: This study employs GIS techniques to evaluate the spatial fairness in the distribution of elderly sports and rehabilitation services. By mapping service locations against demographic data, we assess whether these resources are equitably accessible to elderly populations across different regions. The analysis considers factors such as service coverage rate, service quality index, and resource utilization rate, comparing these indicators with traditional assessment methods. Results: Our findings indicate a significant variation in the availability and accessibility of sports and rehabilitation services for the elderly. The service coverage rate for areas assessed through GIS methods ranged from 89% to 90%, with a service quality index between 91% and 93%, and a resource utilization rate from 86% to 91%. These metrics represent a notable improvement over those derived from traditional evaluation methods. Conclusion: The use of GIS methods provides a comprehensive view of the spatial fairness in the distribution of elderly sports and rehabilitation services. The data derived from GIS analyses aids in identifying areas of resource disparity and excess, facilitating more informed decision-making for policy formulation and resource allocation. This approach not only enhances the efficiency of service delivery but also contributes to the equitable distribution of healthcare resources, thereby supporting the sustainable development of services catered to an aging population. This study underscores the importance of incorporating advanced spatial analysis tools in the planning and management of health services for the elderly.
