Objective: The rapid evolution of information technology has significantly altered the needs of library users, particularly those in specialized fields such as sports medicine and science. This study aims to employ text mining to analyze the specific requirements of library users within this niche, enhancing service delivery and resource allocation. Methods: Utilizing text mining technology, this research analyzed extensive user feedback, comments, and suggestions gathered from library websites, social media, and online platforms. The data underwent preprocessing and were analyzed using advanced techniques in natural language processing and machine learning. Methods such as keyword extraction, topic modeling, and sentiment analysis were employed to identify key trends and characteristics of user needs. Results: The analysis revealed that sports researchers and professionals primarily seek up-to-date academic resources, efficient service delivery, and a conducive learning environment. Notably, there was a significant demand for enhanced digital resources and online services, reflecting a shift towards more virtual engagement in response to evolving research habits and the needs of the sports science community. Conclusions: Based on these insights, several recommendations are proposed to optimize library services for sports researchers. Enhancements should include expanding the collection of current sports science literature, updating physical and digital infrastructures to support advanced research activities, and improving the availability of digital tools and platforms that facilitate remote access and collaboration. Additionally, fostering a user-friendly environment that accommodates the unique needs of sports science professionals can significantly augment research efficiency and effectiveness.
