Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the implementation and clinical outcomes of an evidence-based nursing care system for female athletes undergoing surgery for endometrial cancer during the perioperative period. Methods: This study involved 60 female athletes diagnosed with endometrial cancer who underwent laparoscopic surgery. Participants were randomly divided into an observation group (n=30), receiving evidence-based nursing care, and a control group (n=30), receiving standard nursing care. The study measured various clinical and psychological outcomes pre- and post-surgery. Results: There were no significant differences in age, TNM stage, or pathology between the groups. The observation group showed better perioperative outcomes including shorter operation times, reduced blood loss, quicker post-operative recovery, and earlier mobilization (P<0.05). Physiological markers such as cortisol and adrenalin levels were significantly lower in the observation group post-operatively, indicating a better stress response management. Psychological assessments using the State-Trait Anxiety Index (STAI) and the Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (CES-D) highlighted greater improvements in the observation group (P<0.05). Additionally, this group reported lower postoperative fatigue as measured by the Piper Fatigue Scale (PFS) and less pain as measured by the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS), with significant improvements in overall patient satisfaction (93.33% vs. 80%, P<0.05). Conclusion: The application of an evidence-based nursing care system in female athletes with endometrial cancer during the perioperative period significantly enhances clinical outcomes, reduces stress and pain levels, improves psychological well-being, and increases overall patient satisfaction. This approach demonstrates a valuable clinical impact on managing female athletes' health during critical treatment phases, advocating for its broader adoption in sports health management.
